As the saying goes. The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.

This phrase has reached the point of semantic satiation in my mind.

Maybe THAT'S the real recession indicator.

Idk… government bonds or something?

I read a quote that I think is analogous to AI usage. Knowledge cannot be transferred it can only be learned.

You maybe right, but why don’t you put your prediction in Metacalculus or a prediction market. Thats what they are for.

I don’t agree with your conclusion. It’s like Michael Burry, he’s gotten 10 of the last 2 economic crashes right.

How many people in the financial space recognized Burry's name before 2008?

Pretty much none, but he’s been saying the sky is falling for the last decade.

Well yes, that's the point. Burry had his success early and was not notable before that. Zitron has been outputting a continuous stream of bearish sentiment that hasn't come to fruition, from the moment anyone recognized the name.

And even then, people are starting to notice that Burry's gone a while without a noticeable success.

Yeah, I think this is the key point. I am better at handling chaos because I grew up around chaos (my mom has adhd and so do I) so I am much better at handling things falling apart.

I call this the “this boy ain’t right” diagnosis

Very cool! I might use this later

Illegal for sure but rarely enforced.

My understanding is that collusion among competitors is illegal (although I’m not a lawyer). I was referring instead to the prisoner’s dilemma that Bruce Greenwald discusses in Competition Demystified. In theory, competitors, like prisoners who are pitted against one another to rat on one another, are usually better off cooperating rather than turning against each other.

I think the reasoning is that Google/Apple already have all your photos.
